Mixed central moorland, Forest, Inaccessible Areas, Postbridge with Pub & Shop, Easy Parking

AVOID:

Lots of areas including the triangle between the main roads as far as Dunnabridge, Boggy areas around Powdermills 630 770, Busy Sherberton Farm 645 735, Bridlepath going west beyond Longaford Tor gets V. difficult indeed see Map D3

TAKE CARE -

ROUTES C Circular Route is mostly easy to follow. Stop off at Postbridge or in Bellever Forest where there are picnic tables.

Routes North West and North to be researched and added – may 2005

Points of interest:

Postbridge has East Dart Inn with Paddock and very good shop that does pasties & tea to take away.

Forest riding through Bellever Forest with picnic facilities and river

Various Tors with good views.

Prince Hall Hotel 623 743, very smart but no real horse facilities (2005)

Pure Bred Dartmoor ponies in newtake north of Dunnabridge 643 755

Camping barn and paddock at Runnage Farm

Excellent Café and pottery in summer (not weds (2005) 01822 880263 with easy tie up to fence opposite at Powdermills 628 769

Interesting old Powdermills ruins at 667 774
